Can't beat the Ryobi for the price. Little bulkier than Bosch/etc., but pretty fair value.

I visit a few large construction sites on a regular basis and see more Ryobi cordless tools than any other brand. I do enjoy the one-off times that I see some Festool stuff, tho. :shocking:

Test the battery with a multimeter, if it's just the battery get a new one.

If you want to spend a little extra and get a new drill all together i would suggest bosch or makita.

If you have other tools that take batteries, getting the tool only that fits that battery will save you some cash.

DeWalt 20V Max, hands down. The compact series in particular, the larger hammer drills are nice but nothing special IMO. I got the DCD780C2.

Best cordless drill I've ever used or owned. Dewalt hit it out of the park on this one.

I've used the latest Bosch, Makita, Milwaukee, and they just aren't in the same league IMO.

If it's the battery you can fix it (just look on youtube), if it's the drill, find out what failed and fix it. My Craftsman drill died and it was the trigger, I ordered a new part from Sears and repaired it good as new.

I just went and bought the lithium batteries and charger. We use those batteries at work 2 shifts, for years. I can't say the Craftsman lithiums are of the same caliber but I going to find out. I also bought several more tools to work with those batteries though.

I am a DeWalt cordless tool man.
Recently a convert to DeWalt Lith/Ion tools after many years of ni-cad tools.
I love those lith/ion tools. More power, better life, smaller.
My 12v L/I impact driver outperforms my older 18v ni-cad hammer drill in driving long deck screws.

If you basically liked the drill, fix it, or buy a another C3.

From all I can see the C3 is a solid mid range performer, and may not be the latest more powerful, but should handle most any task you give it.

OTOH I still have my B&D Versapak stuff.

I have a Hitachi and it has been quite good for 5 or 6 years. I have friends that are happy with their Dewalt, Ryobi, C-man, Bosch, Milwaukee and B&D cordless drills. Any of them will probably work well for you.

If you decide to get rid of the now worthless C3 stuff, send me a PM, I might like to try fixing or modifying one.
