Picked up this Snap-On MT540c tester today that I plan on restoring. I opened it up and everything looks good internally. The two knobs turn and the switch and the gauge needles move. Only have the one common cable.

Looking to find a Manual either original (see pic #3) or a PDF or a copy would do. I haven't seen anything yet on the net. Like to find the related cables in good condition or even frayed to determine wire sizes. Original plugs would be nice too.

Also interested in any original stand that it sat on.

I cleaned up the one black cable today and found out its a #2 size with special brass male tips that you push into the tester's larger holes and give it a 1/4 turn which locks the cable in the hole and keeps them from being pulled out accidently when using the tester.

I also found out that my multi meter's cables plug right into all the smaller testing holes on the MT540c. Mine have the exposed metal tips. I'll make my own neg./pos. leads if I can't find original ones.

Also I can make modifications to my own battery cables, but I need to locate correct type male brass ends that will fit into the tester's larger holes. Nice if I could find the same type of cable ends as the black cable.

I started cleaning the tester a little today. Managed to polish the larger adjusting knob, but the smaller one needs more work.

Have to find a way to clean up the bare aluminum name plates. Tried a few different polishes but so far not so good results. Seems to be more of a corrosion type discoloration then just dirt or stains.

Found a re-print of the manual for this exact model on eBay. Should have it in a couple days.

Now I just need to track down some original cables and a stand for it.
