I have 4 new 3" soffit lites that I wired using power from a plug. Power from plug to forth lite, daisyed to 3rd, to 2nd, to first and then the switch. I went black to black, white to white except the switch to first lite uses the single pole switch loop hookup. When I turned the circuit on the 2 & 4 lites were on, the 1st & 3rd were off and when I flipped the switch on only the 1st lite came on....something Obviously is wrong. I can't find a simple drawing to show me how to get power to a lite with the switch at the other end. Any help is appreciated. PS, it's wired wrong but the circuit didn't kick:eyecrazy:

CONNECT your switch as follows:

1 side of the switch goes to the black on the outlet and the other side goes to all the blacks from the soffit lights.

the whites are correct on the drawing

And you did it that way because ? ? ?

if you want it to work, you need to put the switch where the red X is in this diagram, connect the last light to black where the red dot is, and get rid of everything beyond that last light.

That's part of my problem. I enter the room by the switch on the left. I don't have an option on the switch location.

I'm not sure if you have fixed this issue. Here goes.
They way you have it currently is as follows
You will always have lights 4,3,2 always on
Light 1 will only work when the switch is turned on.

The diagram than Pattenp and Stevo gave you are correct.

Also, bulb 3 is defective.

Let me know if you need further help.
