I need to put a ceiling in my barn, but my truss's are 36" apart. Has anyone run into the same problem?

Just run 2 x 4's 16 inch o.c. flat across the bottom of the trusses (at a 90* angle to them) and attach your ceiling sheathing to them.

That is what i would do, although you might get by with smaller wood, like 1x4 or 1x2 even? A lot of what to use depends on the type of ceiling.
What are you planning on using for the ceiling ?

I will probably use osb, possibly some of that cheap plywood that they have at Home Depot. I really don't have a plan for that yet.
