In a couple months my wife and I will be moving into a house

I am going to make a screwdriver holder that is going to be mounted onto the wall.....it will be made out of wood

Here is the question part:

On the holes I want to put like a metal sleeve into the hole(this would be nice but not a must) and have like a metal washer on top of the wood basically to keep the wood from scratching everytime the screwdriver is taken out and put back in.

How would I go about mounting the metal washers to the wood? without drilling holes into them and screwing them into the wood?

Or if you can find the right size bit, countersink them into the wood as a press-fit??
