Need some color opinions!

Hello good people of GJ. This one is pretty straight forward. I was all set to purchase a tan colored epoxy, but after looking at many pictures on this site, I'm now doubting myself. I've already purchased all the flakes, so those can't change. However, I can have the epoxy tinted any color I'd like. So, I grabbed a few color chips and tossed my flakes on them. Thoughts? From left to right, the colors are "Porcini", "Khaki", "Beige Shadow", "Cooled Lava" and "Deep Mink". I'm leaning towards the right two, "Cooled Lava" or "Deep Mink"....Thanks!!

The darker the color the more light it will absorb and the harder it wll be to find dropped fasteners. I would go with second from the left or the middle.

What color will the walls be? That can be a big factor.
I personally think lighter is better on the floor. Looks cleaner and also makes the space look bigger.
I like the middle one in the photo, because it looks like a light gray. But the name suggests beige which I don't like

Hey EMC, I was actually thinking something very similar to what is shown on your thread! Your garage looks amazing BTW! At the very least, black/very dark grey walls(bottom half) and tan(upper half). But your use of red has made me reconsider!

Lighter is brighter and looks clean even when a bit dirty, especially if you use the flakes/chips.

I see what you mean. If you're going with any kind of dark color on the lower wall sections, then a lighter color on the floor will also give a good contrast, as well as the other advantages already mentioned. Just my 2c...

You're right, But I just have this unrealistic idea that I'll miraculously start keeping my garage clean!

Unless you have a large garage, I've found that the darker colors will give the appearance of a smaller space. I'll admit that the darker colors do provide for a more elegant and rich looking floor but isn't always the most practical. The remarks that people have made in terms of better light reflection, finding small parts, and showing less dirt are all right on the money for a lighter color.

That middle color looks really nice, however it will have to depend on your walls and taste like others said.

I'm a big fan of the darker colors, though it does make finding dropped screws a little more difficult.

I think dark floors have a very luxurious, but that comes with one big caveat... the space must have very good lighting! And it will show wear and tear more easily.

For most applications a lighter color is the best choice.

haha, they're not jumbo flakes, just normal 1/4" flakes from Original Color Chips. The sample colors are about 2" square, so that's probably it!

I'm with you guys! It's down to Deep Mink and Beige Shadow. I'm having trouble balancing the desire for that rich look that something darker would provide, and the practicality of something lighter.
