I am looking at building a new garage on my property in Roswell GA. I don't know any contractors at all. Can anyone in the ATL recommend a few so I can get some quotes.

I would like to do a 4 car with at least one bay high enough for a hoist. I would also like to have a loft above for a possible in law suite.

You might want to start by working with an architect and firming up the design of the building. Without clear plans, every builder you do talk with will have a different take on what you want and will give you pricing based on that. Comparing those numbers isn't going to work as every builder will be pricing a different project. A lot of builders won't even give you pricing without existing plans. If you go the route of a design / build firm, then they want to get paid for the design which, effectively, belongs to them.

That said, I recently used Penn Carpentry for a major house remodel that was a lot of reframing work, and would trust them to be able to build a garage for me (I wish they had built my garage). Check references on Angie's list for any company you do talk to though. The review process on there is pretty good.

Good luck with the project.
