Bobbyd I hope you are out there man! :D ....got my LCN door closers off ebay today. Where the arm mounts to the head jamb, there is a piece of trim that holds the weatherstrip in the way, it's thin stuff, vinyl or aluminum or thin steel. Removing some of that trim in the mount area isn't really an option since the arm would then graze the trim piece again when the door is opened (it's not offset much). What's the best way to handle this? Should I build down the rough opening header stud (essentially mount another piece of 2x in front of that trim piece for a spot to mount too)? If I do that the mount will be inboard of where the directions say to mount it.... Pic of door from the inside attached and close up of the header. Red arrows point to the trim thats in the way, the green is the weatherstrip.

Some closers come with drop down bracket that is made to overcome the problem you are having. They may sell them seperatly at lowes or homedepot.

This is a followup for posterity :)

Got the closers installed. :) Thanks to Bobbyd for helping me with the work around on the trim, for the moral support, and for coming up with some female *** bolts which could not be procured locally. I installed 4 nylon bushings (sleeves) in the trim piece where the 4 outboard screws pass through. Then installed a sister board to the header stud to pick up the back 2 screw locations in the shoe (these provide the anchor for the CUSH feature). Closer works great. Installing these is a little tricky if you've never done it before....be sure to pay attention to the directions where it talks about the arm being 15 degrees out when you mount the unit...I missed that one sentence and attempted to install with it pre-loaded to 195 degrees  .....I was like man this sure takes alot of strength!...the curse words were flyin'...lol...and then the door would only open 6".....anyway, figured it all out..... Pics attached.
