Need some electrical advise..

Curious to see how many neon lights i can run off of one circuit? currently have 12/2 wire, 20amp breaker, 20amp switch. would like to put as many lights as i can on a circuit so one switch would control all. Ive heard / googled that neon beer signs carry low amps after initial turn on? Hoping yall could help me out on this! On my wall plugs, i only ran 3 per breaker.

With the power that neon lights draw, I'd think you could make your house a small version of Vegas on one circuit.

All I can offer is that you can have a max of 16 amps on a 20 amp circuit. It's the 80% continuous load rule.

Depends on the gas, number of fittings, etc, a 13K will run about 66 ft of red depending on number of electrodes,,, maybe 5A,,, don't recall but each device if factory made will list the current draw.

I'm guessing that those things want high voltage and low current. Maybe some web searching?

Of course, if you have the devices, maybe look at the current ratings and add them up. Typically things draw way less current than the ratings.

30mA is on the output.

For example, here's one from google: "15000V 243W 30mA"

That's 15,000V, 30mA. This is output.
243W is the power consumption of the unit. So this unit will draw just about 2A on a 120V supply.

just follow the input of each model. you could also check amp draws of each unit and calculate it up.

That's it. Unit draws half an amp max. If it draws more it's defective. If that ballast is electronic and you start loading up circuits, you're next lesson will be about harmonics.
