Hey guys...I've been reading through lots of posts about epoxy floors and the time has finally come for me to address my garage floor. A little back story...
We purchased our home 3 years ago and prior to that, the renter who was occupying the house did some serious work (read: beat the hell out of the garage floor) on his hotrod in the garage. I have some pretty serious gouges and chemical breakdown in some spots. Additionally, he decided to build and secure a pretty overly build workbench to the garage cinder block wall.
We plan on living in this house for another 3-5 years, but don't plan on it being my 'Dream Garage', so we just want to fix it up to make it usable for mechanical, electrical and crafting (wife) projects. So here are my questions...
Is it totally silly to even think about leaving the workbench in place (water heater as well) and epoxy around it?
Our garage floor was polished at some point and is quite smooth, but still absorbs some stains if left on there...is there anything special that needs to be done other than the typical degrease, etch and apply?
We are looking for a cost effective solution, but don't want to cut corners and do a half-assed job. Ideally, I wouldn't want to remove the workbench that's there, but if that's the logical approach, I am not fully against it.
Just looking for some educated advice and help with brainstorming.
Thanks!
