As I read through this thread I knew it was only a matter of time until his pieces were ready ! Nice job 4 FN 27.

Same here and ditto, great job 427!

Only problem now is we wont be able to see his drill press spindle explode when he does an offset notch with a holesaw! :willy_nil

Did anyone PM him? He's a new member so maybe he's not in the habit of checking GJ every spare waking moment? With a PM he'd get an email.

I know you cut them on a Laser, but what type? It looks like the laser head stays stationary and the work piece moves? Sorta like a cnc turret punch....

Just curious....

Most lasers I have seen have the bed with an array of spikes that hole the material. Then the laser head moves or has the laser beam moved via a setup of mirrors......

Yep that is a Sheet Dragger. Amada 1212 Pulsar. We have 3 of them. They work great for the short run stuff, proto's, building fixtures and cutting embossed parts (head follows mat'l in Z).

For production stuff we run on either our CO2 FMS System with 2 EX4500 Mitzu's or on our Mitzu Fiber FMS with 1 4000 watt Fiber.

If you want it punched we have 7 Strippit Turrets...

First Turret Press I saw was in 1968 at 5 years old. Got to push the start buttom...first Laser was 1979 at 15 years old on a Turret Laser Combo machine...was cleaning toilets in that shop trying to learn the Sheet Metal business...

And now that you have everything on me please keep it on the DL...LOL...

I think I'm a bit of a stalker.

Helps when you want to find someone.

bc...your a scary man!

BTW, 427, I work for Trumpf, machining copper mirrors and other optical components for their industrial lasers. Unfortunately they just told us that my dept. is going back to Germany(motherland) in about 2 yrs. I currently machine the large power mirrors for co2 lasers. Fun stuff, Im gonna miss it. Im jealous of your experience!

Sorry to hear that. I have been to the Trumpf Plant in CT back in 2013 to look at their punch machine. Impressive to say the least. Just did not make the right fit based on having 5 Strippit Punches in the mix and having to maintain 2 completely different tooling inventories. So we went the Strippit route again making it 7 turret punches.

Funny as 1 German company moves work back to the father land another is moving theirs to the USA. I just bid a big package for a German company and they have committed to running it here...

I'd plasma or laser them.

Edit: went back and read entire thread. Glad someone stepped up. I started to draw up the file as well. Easy stuff and I don't mind helping out forum peeps.

Sorry For not responding for so long! I could not comprehend why someone would do such a nice thing. Thank you all for the help, especially 4 FN 27, you are the bomb! I had to reread the PM the next day to make sure I had not dreamt it. I am an absolute novice and work by myself. I am also a bit behind on projects, but i will most definitely post pictures of the completed project, and I hope they meet everyone's expectations. I will try to get it done before school starts but no promises. Again thank you all. Also bczygan, the fact that you found those other websites made me both laugh and cringe, hopefully nothing more revealing surfaces...any way. Again thank you, this forum is really the best. Bunch of awesome helpful people.

big reason not to post up names or location

Posting up a state that you live in is not the same as posting up someones phone number and other personal information. I would never think of posting up another members personal info

Bill...if you would, I think you should edit your post and remove the phone number. I know that you wouldn't want you info put out there by someone else.

Yea, it's overboard that you went that far, even if it wasn't that hard... But even worse that it's all public now.

Edit: I see that it was taken down. That's a positive.

Jbrates......that is what being a member of Garage Journal is all about. And what 4FN did was a great thing. Just remember that if you can't pay him for it, you can always pay it forward which many of us do all the time  Glad you got helped out by a fellow member.

True but posting up a state gives a lead to help find the person or the persons home (ie narrows down the search area). Seen it done all the time, while its nice to give friends and idea where you are at, it also give predators a greater chance of finding you. I've seen many people harmed and/or lose their belongings
