Need some help finding a thread

A year or so ago someone posted about their church having built a large shop to do work for the less fortunate in the community, It had a couple work bays and a detail bay.My church is looking for more ways to help in the community as well and i am wanting to find the thread to show them. I have tried searching here and Google but i don't know if I'm using the wrong wording or what?

I don't know the thread you are looking for, but Bellevue Presbyterian has an "Auto Angels" group that fixes cars for people. Maybe you can learn something from them.

Willow Creek in the NW suburbs of Chicagoland. It was started in the old pole building that was used by the grounds department. Next a large shop was leased but the costs kept rising. So the Church decided to build a shop on our property. We now have a super shop to help the needy.

Anyone in the north suburbs that is intrested in volunteering here just ask.
More help is always needed.

There are quite a few who just come and volunteer but dont go to church here. We have guys that have been doing it for 20 years, just a few but thats very impressive. I would bet the average is over 5 years or more.
Many of us dont see lots of different kinds of cars at home but we work on most every kind here. Often in bad shape but they leave safe.
Its a real joy to help a single mom that does not know how she will get to work if the car is broke.
