Need some help identifying a compressor

Guy says its a furnace 200gallon with a 1hp motor and its 220v

Im trying to figure out if this thing is worth its weight in scrap even

my goals are to find a compressor for my shop/garage

any help would be appreciated

Furnas is more likely to be the company who made the pressure switch.

If that is anywhere near 200gal a 1hp motor will take forever to fill it. But that does not look like a 200gal tank.

Need more and better pics of the pump for an ID.

Dollars to donuts thats a 60 gallon tank.Get the measurements and google "air compressor tank" to find typical sizes.

Left out KEY FACT . . . how much is guy asking for "200 gallon" air compressor with a 1 HP motor ??

Need much better information (more pics of compressor, tank tag, etc) before you even know what you're getting.

To me that is a 30 gallon (tank is almost exactly the same as my 30 gallon one) kludged together compressor. Probably about 3 CFM but hard to tell because there are no pictures of the compressor itself.

If the tank is in good condition, it pumps up at least 110 PSI without bogging or excessive running, no rust inside, it is probably worth about $50 or so.

That welded on label should tell the tank size and date of manufacture. A photo of the pump will provide a lot more information.

the tag on the motor says that it's a 110 0r 220 switchable the plug is a standard 110 plug so its problably wired 110. the 200 on the tank is the working pressure not capacity. there should be tag that show volume of tank

No way, no how. $50 MAX, that tank is about 40 years old, who knows how old the compressor head is, and the motor is very likely much older.

That probably had around a 3hp motor originally that burned out. the PO probably had that 1hp laying around and fogured "close enough".
Who knows if he even used the correct speed motor or the correct pulley.
Also see if the oil has ever been changed and if the tank isn't full of water.

I would offer $50 but I'm thinking this guy thinks he has a valuable machine there and won't budge on his price.

Guess he didn't really want to sell it then, huh !! He's never got on a computer and seen brand new 60 gal 3.1 HP for $399 . . . LOL . .

Something better will come along. Keep watching CL like a hawk.

I would walk. It has been put together backwards (note pressure vessel tag on same side as flywheel). Obviously by someone who knows very little about air compressors. I've worked on many types of compressors for the last 55 years and I do not recognize this one. Where ar you going to get repair parts?
I might also warn anyone buying a compressor from a big box store, before you pull the trigger, ask the store manager to give you a price for a set of rings ang gasket set. If he cannot then walk away.
