Bought this from my neighbor after her husband died. Their son worked for Snap-On and gave this to his father before he passed away. I can't find any markings on it, but maybe I missed something. The support struts are wore out, so I have it propped up in case you were wondering what the heck those things are...lol. The box is 50" x 21.5" x 21" and is extremely heavy! Any help would be appreciated.

Look carefully on the back in one of the corners for the manufacturer stamp. If you can't find one, it's a newer model and someone removed the identification label.

I have pretty much the same version of that box without the top compartment, 1988 model.

Took a quick look on the internet, that box looks like a KR690 from about 1990. The bottom box to match it would be a KR660. I'm not a Snap-On guy, just happened to find boxes that look similar. Hope that helps. By the way, nice box, I'm jealous.

If my SO dealer buddy was right those boxes are on the rare side. Not too many people wanted a top box on their 660 as it made a good work surface. More of the 3/4 width top boxes, I don’t remember the number, were sold for the 660 than the full width 690. I would like to find a 690 top for my 660.

they are a unique box in these days, very well built. I recently bought my kr-670 back, have not seen it for almost 20 years and walked in the pawn shop the other day and their it sat. Near mint condition. The 670 is same box minus the flip lid top.

I would say 690 aren't super rare. I just sold one earlier this year and there's 2 more 690/660 combosfor sale from me within a 50 mile radius. I believe the other top box youre thing of is a KR670 which is basically the same top minus the flip lid and able to have stuff stacked on top of it.

As for the worn out struts, remove one and take it to your local NAPA store, then can match one for you at a fraction of the cost of a Snap-on replacement.
