My forced air unit has roughly a 8 x 21 opening on it. I would like to use the entire surface area of the end, 21x21 square and reduce that to like a 16" round spiral duct to feed the center of the shop. With 4 - 8" round turn downs. Run will only be about 16', and turn downs about 4'.

I want metal, and want round. I am wanting it to have that industrial look.

Is this a custom thing? Or can it be ordered somewhere?

Spiral duct is made in Sheet metal Shops. The place here can do up to a 40 foot run up to a 36" around. This is mostly for transporting and the size of there shop limitations.

As for what you want made if that is properly sized that is a different story. Also the duct will have to be reduced in size after the first take offs to keep velocity up. They make the runs to length then cut the holes for the takeoffs on site.

If you want to preserve the ceiling hight, you can also consider spiral oval ducting.

Yes, I agree with the other poster. Your local mechanical/sheet metal shop will build it, IF you want it pro looking. A lot of ways to hack it together if one gets "creative" I would say. Put some dampers in your supply drops so you can get the output air "fine tuned" . JMO
