Still waitin on weather to start pouring my foundation, but in the meantime i'm tryin to figure out how to set everything up. Its 40W x 48L x 16H with a 14H x 16W overhead door, i also have a 12H x 10W overhead i can use somewhere else on the building if want/need. The shop will have a 2 post Bendpak hoist, and a tire machine and balancer. 80 gal stand up compressor, mig and arc welders torch set tool box, etc The plan was to put a 20'? workbench down one side, hoist along the wall on the other side. Tryin to figure out the best way to organize all this stuff so the hoist won't really be in the way when workin on something else in the shop, like my farm tractors, or gravel truck. Also tryin to decide if i should include office space into the shop, or just build an outbuilding to house an office and bathroom/compressor room, i have a 16 x 24 insulated building sittin around doin nothin anyway.

Best way to lay out something like a shop is draw everything to scale, cut each piece out, then play around with it until it looks right.

And put the compressor outside.
