Cleaning out my uncles old shop equipment, I'm having difficulty finding a value for some of the equipment I have left to sell. I'm hopeful that the guys here can lend a hand with your experience and expertise?

I have 2 Mico electric pumps, one set up for a 55 gallon drum and one for a smaller 30 gal? Both are 120V and are mounted on standpipes ready to put on a barrel.

I have a cast iron gear oil container with a built in pump, it says ARO on the casting but I can't find anything like it - I've seen these in shops for decades, but can't seem to find anything like it for sale to gauge prices.

I have a foot operated riveter, originally I'm sure it was for riveting brake linings and maybe clutch linings, it's very cool looking!

I'll post up some pics, and I'll have better ones later today.

There are a few other things that I could use help on too.....I'll post them all up in this thread.

I appreciate ideas, thoughts on how to market this stuff too......it all has to go by the end of the month when I lose my storage facility.

More pics, the ARO gear oil pump - the pump itself is cast iron, the container is steel, the base is cast iron.

Pics of the riveter, and a cool old on the car mechanical wheel balancer!

This is the Hemmeter Dial-O-Matic wheel balancer, patents on this go back to the 1930's!

I believe it's complete.....I would love to keep it to use on my cars, but I don't think it will fit on the 10" and 13" wheels Classic Minis have, and that's pretty much all I work on now.

Old Yale chain hoist, this thing is massive for it's rating!

The romantic hills of central Umbria, Italy,
You have some nice stuff, maybe see if some of the folks here would be interested... Heck, if there was a cheap and easy way to get it here, the belt and lining riveter could find a new home here... just saying, you have some cool goodies there!

I sent an email to my friend in Wichita KS about your stuff, he may contact you. He works on vintage 1960's cars.

Thanks for the link Phil. Looks like it was 2010 when I was logged in here last. Anyway, there isn't much I really need but the jackstands are a unique design that I haven't seen before.

The tank pumps I could maybe use but at the moment driving to get them is not practical. Not sure what the cost would be to ship or even if that would be worth it (if they even work without leaking seals).

That balancer is very unique too and looks like it would be hella scary to operate!

I put about a dozen of the items I have on the local Facebook Marketplace and have been inundated with messages.....one guy has offered a lump sum for everything. We'll see if we get together, but that would be optimal.

I hope you have better luck with the riveter than I did. It took quite a while to give one very much like yours away. It even had a lot of rivets in a tray that was around the main post.

Grease pumps are expensive new but at auction they rarely go more than $10. The trick is to find the market. I never could. Same problem with the riveter. The rest should sell easily. Ebay is not the worst. Facebook marketplace also works sometimes. Craigslist is a possibility but has become little used. Still, it never hurts.

I guess I got lucky, I put it on Facebook Marketplace and had probably 10 people ask about it, first guy there bought it for asking price. I think I could have held out for more based on the amount of interest but I'm not greedy.

I just need to sell the stuff to help my cousin out.

You mean the ARO gear oil pump? I've has some interest in it - I play up the fact that it's this old, made of cast iron instead of cheap tin and so on, but no takers yet. We'll see what happens. I can always drop the price or take offers.

Who knows, it may even be worth it to me to keep it?

The MICO pumps are for oil or other liquids, not grease.

Anyone have any thoughts about this SnapOn Seal or bushing driver kit? Part number? Price I should ask?

No point in getting greedy when you really just need to move it. A lot of stuff like that it's just nice to know it's not going in a scrap pile. Pretty soon I'm going to have to start back up with getting a whole lot more stuff moved to somebody else's place.

Right. That's kinda been my idea too, I just hate to throw this stuff away, and if I can find the right guy, it goes to a good place and my cousin gets something out of the deal.

WinWin.

I've been pretty happy with the responses I get on FB Marketplace, but I've noticed that after the first "hit" replies drop off dramatically, by the third day its a ghost town.

Out of the stuff I posted here, still have the pumps, chain hoist, balancer and the gear oil pump - I thought that would go right away. I am down to a small enough pile that I can probably store it in my basement and piece it out slowly from here on. I still wouldn't mind if someone just came and cleared it all out for a lump sum, but if that doesn't happen I think the leftovers are a manageable number.

That's the way I've sold most of the stuff I have. A trailer, pallet or truckload at a time. You can always get more money if you are willing and able to put in the time. I figured at some point it just wasn't worth it. It becomes a chore very quickly.
