Need some ideas on hanging this small tool platform

I'm a casual DIY'er and recently ditched my toolboxes in favor of laying out the hand tools on adjustable height shelves in a closet, which makes accessing tools so much easier for me. Anyway, I had an extra shelf rack from a smaller shelf that I ziptied to the side of this large shelf. I then ziptied one of those Harbor Freight magnetic tool holders to the rack, and mounted a bunch of socket holders to the magnetic tool holder, which works great - easier access to entire socket rails and frees up shelf space.



I'd like to mount this platform that holds a pocket hole jig to the rack (would free up some more shelf space). Trying to figure out a good way to do so. Thought about passing some large bolts with fender washers through the rack and then through a couple of holes I'd drill in the platform and secure it via wingnuts. But seems kind of clunky. Figured you guys would have better ideas.

If it's just for storage, then get a pair of large screw hooks. Screw them in the side of the plywood and just hang it off the side of the wire shelf.

Yes, it's just for storage. When I need to use the jig, I clamp the platform to a work surface.

Will screw hooks hold in the edge of 3/4" plywood? I can predrill so the ply doesn't split; just never tried having screws in the edge of plywood bear a load.

It wouldn't hurt to use a dab of glue in the hole before you screw the hook in. If the jig was heavy, this might not work. But it looks light enough to get by.

Jig + plywood weighs 4.5 lbs.

Glue wouldn't work for this application because (if I'm envisioning this correctly) with the hooks glued in, the platform won't sit flat on a work surface. Without glue, I'd be able to turn the hooks a 1/4 turn when I need to mount the platform to a work surface.

Lot of wasted space right below each shelf. Use a few bungee hooks to hold it up against the bottom of a shelf.

Hard to tell from the pic, but the jig + plywood is nearly 6" tall. Taller than the gaps between the shelves in the pic, which are 5 1/4". Even if it could fit, because of the height of the setup, it would be awkward to remove it and replace it.

Interesting. That might work.

Similar idea but without having to rely on a plywood edge holding together, I could attach two flat metal brackets to the plywood top side (side with jig). Brackets overhang the ply and have holes into which I secure machine screw hooks with nuts. I have some 1/8" thick flat bar stock I can use for the brackets.

Got some 1/8" diameter round bar left over from another project, so no need to make a trip to the hardware store.

Might be overthinking it. I have the same jog on s similar platform. I haven't hung mine up yet but I Was just going to drill 2 holes in the board and hang it on a couple up nails, screws, or hooks. You can probably just hang some hooks off the side of your shelf.

I'm late to the party as well with the same thought. So here's a mod...

Turn those two small holes into one, larger "Handle" sized oval. Round over the edges etc.

Now you've got a hanging hole, a carry handle, and even a clamping hole that allows you to get a C clamp or F clamp closer to the center of the jig.
