I'm looking for some help from you folks out there. I need to control a lower hose radiator heater for a diesel gen set. I'm trying to make or buy something that will turn the 120ac heater on when the temperature outside goes below 30 degrees in the cabinet, and shut off when is goes about 30.

Any ideas that would do the trick?

Thanks....

A regular electric baseboard heater thermostat (2 pole

which has an OFF setting for safety)

will almost do the trick. They usually have a range of

40 to 80* F. You can modify the setting to accomodate

the lower ON temperature if you are willing to fiddle with

the darned things. I used to do that and set them up

in houses connected to the phone line. When I would

call the house, if it rang I was assured the temp was OK

but if it was busy, then I knew I needed to get there ASAP

to fix the problem with the heater.
