Tonight I will be installing the lights in the garage and I need some advise. The hate is 22x21 and I am putting three rows of dblT8. Question: I wanted to do 3 rows of 8 footers. These would run the whole length front to back. Will this give me a sunburn while working in there? 24 ft of dbl Y8 or 48 ft. is the question.
Thanks in advance!

Ok.... I don't feel like I really made that crystal clear on the cell phone. They say a picture is worth a thousand words... Maybe 2K in my case.

Option 1 - my personal favorite with 6 - 8 ft dbl T8's

Option 2 - Probably more reasonable with 6 4' dble T8's

Im really wanting to know if Option 1 is going to blind people and burn gingers. If a little is good, alots better.

Option 2 is going to save money, but I'm not sure it will be enough light.

Falcon, I've already tallied your vote.

Thanks!

26' x 30' with 20 2 tube 48" T8's / 6500k tubes.

If you put the lights above the center of the car/s there will be shadows around the car. Try to keep them to the outside

Is it to much light for detailed work? I plan on doing the same what model of lights you used? Do the hum or inter fear with the radio?

I am using 4 ft Phillipps 32W Natural light T8's. There are now 24 of them in the garage, and if you leave the door open, it looks like the sun is in there. For detail work, I think this would be a great setup. If you are just working in the garage, I would def. go with 6 - 4ft instead of 6-8ft. I may end up taking half of the lights out when not painting, detailing etc. because it kinda gives you a headache, and if you walk from in there to out in the darkness, you are totally blinded for about a minute.

And yes, they make the radio Hummmm.

I have a 20x22 garage. I am going to use 3 rows of 3. This is using 4 ft fixtures from HD. I may scale it back based on your experiences though. Should the lights Be parallel to the garage door, perpendicular or does it really matter. This is a standard 2 car attached to th house. Attic space above the garage only.

I think 6 - 4ft fixtures would be perfect. I ran them perpendicular to the door, this way they run the length of the vehicle.

Good Luck!

I have never heard the above before, but certainly it makes sense.
i have a 40x40x15, and so far I have 20 of the 4' double tube t8 fixtures with the 6500k bulbs. I am looking to add just a couple more.
