I have that same box in the Matco version. It was in similar shape--I paid about the same this one. Make sure to check the slides, as I don;t these these have BB slides--mine didn't.

I like these little boxes. They have lots of smaller drawers which is nice. I picked this up knowing that I'd get a bigger box or one just like it to gang it to. If I get a bigger box, I'll put my machinist stuff in this one.

I'm doing a resto on mine and should have it done by new years- I'll post some pics for you if you decide to get this one.

I'd be all over that one if it was local to me, especially if it comes full of tools! Get it and resto it with lots of pics! Top boxes are always really easy to find to go on this too! The roll cabs are usually the harder ones to find!

Thats a Mac MB500 from the late 70's-mid 80s. Nice solid box. If the drawers work good I'd be all over it for 150.

Are you in Norcal? if so, you will be into the box big time with gas. The Bay area has way more tool boxes pop up than in Los Angeles. good deal for 150

I ended up picking up the box for $140. Here's a picture:

This was in one of the drawers:

It's a 1979 MAC catalog. The catalog says it's a MB520. I can't find a date stamp anywhere. Anyone know where it is?

There's a good bit of rust, so I plan on stripping it down and a repaint. There are dual friction slides on the bottom drawer. Overall in decent shape.

I'd like to see your resto when you're done please.

That's a real nice box, I would've bought it for that price, and I surely don't need another toolbox!

I don't know for sure where MAC puts their datestamps, but look real closely on the back, preferably in natural light, for a light engraving...start on the bottom in the corners and middle.

Good deal. When I called it a MB500 I was speaking of the series. My very first matching new top and bottom boxes from a tool truck was a roll cab just like that and the matching top box with the big middle drawer like the bottom.
