Last week with the long weekend approaching I decided to get starting on my epoxy floor project I've been putting off for the past couple months. I rented the diamond sander and everything is going great so far the surface looks incredible under the old garage paint!

I plan on laying down a kit from epoxy-coat on Monday or Tuesday but the only thing is that I really didn't plan for was sealing the small cracks. I understand that a 2 part epoxy putty is the best option here, and there are several options available I could order, but i'm not seeing any that I could pickup locally like today!

This is the only one I see a home depot and it seems to have a longer curing time then I want .

Any suggestions?

In a pinch a mfg rep told me you could use 100% solids epoxy as a crack filler if that helps? Good luck

I just leave it, it going crack through the epoxy anyway, just clean it out and let the epoxy fill it up. the epoxy stronger than anything you buy for it. they make glue with it

Thanks guys I might leave it plus it looks much smaller now with some additional diamond sanding. However now i'm considering ordering a clear coat topcoat so it might not go on till next weekend anyways.

If you coat using a 100% solids epoxy it WILL NOT FILL IN THE CRACK. The only type of floor coating that will fill in the crack during application is tile.

If you have a hairline crack that is different than a seperation crack. Not every crack is the same.

This is a good video to show you how to correctly fix a crack. Remember prep is the key to a successful coating of any type of epoxy. No matter how much the epoxy cost if you sloppy fix the crack it will crack you back later down the road. I am not sponsoring the MFG and have not used the product. Just showing how to perform the repair.

Thanks for the responses! I probably wont do the epoxy till next weekend so I am considering using this crack filler I already have in the link below. Its not epoxy but should be dry by the weekend if I do it today or tomorrow. Do you think this stuff would cause any issues with adhesion of the epoxy coat?

Also I'd love to get your opinions on using a clear top coat. I didn't order one and now I am reconsidering , depending on the extra cost. I believe legacy has one that is compatible with the epoxy-coat kits. Can you provide any more information on this?
If I ordered one today what are the chances I would get it for the upcoming weekend (Apex, NC)

I used rustoleum crack repair,it worked.

No data found on the product you gave a link toward. There are several members that will be on tomorrow so hopefully someone has info on that product. I would verify if will not react with epoxy.

On the clear coat I know many vendors on this site have compatable products but keep in mind warranty. I have not applied my Polyurea clear from Epoxy-Coat yet due to weather but followed many post on this site that say the Polyurea coating is top notch. Had also saw many postings saying epoxy clear coat was not best choice. Same cost for Epoxy clear or Polyurea from Epoxy-Coat.

OP,

get the polyurea from Rugerlady (Epoxy Coat).

Even if you have to put the job back a while, the clear was most definitely worth it.
The only thing I'd do different is apply it in a single coat and use a little less of the aluminium oxide anti slip. Just put enough down to make it safe, but no more. The finish will be incredible.

How much was the diamond sander rental?
I rented it from sunbelt rentals for the weekend including monday for 122.00. out the door with the Dyma Serts.

I used the Rustoleum crack repair / fill product with their Professional Epoxy on my floor and it worked great. I purchased it from Amazon but I have also seen it at HD.
