So my take on this thread is go with the kombi system with the K 130R power head OR go with the backpack, but make sure to mix my oil/gas ratio at 50:1 OR 32:1. Okay I got it.

My decision is to go with the Kombi System and will mix the oil/gas to what won't invalidate my warranty.

Thanks

This is just a thought to ponder. The question why would you do anything different with the gas to oil mix other than what the manufacture suggest? No one on this thread has Stihl engineer designer as a title.

Buy a new product and ignore the manufacture's recommendations sound like a BONE HEAD approach. One bottle to one gallon it just does not get ANY easier than that.

When you buy a new Stihl they will offer an 8 pack of oil. Buying that will add two more years to the warranty FYI. That is the only time you can buy the 8 pack the rest are 6 pack only.

Personally the Swiss army knife approach to tools never quite has the metal or the performance of the individual tool. Good concept theory wise but fails in the world application.

On my K130R, at the advice of my local Stihl dealers tech, I use either Stihl synthetic oil at the recommended 50:1, or Amsoil Saber Professional oil, at 50:1, both excellent oils for a 4Mix engine.
Also try to use non ethanol gas if available, and use a good stabilizer ( I use PRI-D). Keep the mix agitated as all fuel oil mixes will slowly separate, so shake the machine before running if it's sat for a time, and shake up the supply can before refuelling.
Tons of good info on ArboristSite.com !
Enjoy, you're getting a very good machine!

I picked up the Kombi K130R power head with the blower attachment and the brush cutter. The blower worked great. I cleared my whole yard of leaves & pine straw in about an hour. I was a little disappointed in the brush cutter as it was awkward to wield around the entire yard and the blade was worn down to the nubs after just one use. To be fair, I did take down a lot of small trees with it and did hit a few hidden rocks. I was also disappointed in the run time as I went through 4 tanks of fuel in less than 2-hours.
