I'm in need of thin crowfoot wrenches, in specific, 21mm and 25mm. I have in hand a 3/8" drive 20mm Proto (matte finish/USMC surplus) that measures 1/4" thickness on the working end (3/8" drive is thicker).

Any other commonly sourced brands thinner? Also, how does a 1/2" drive Proto crowfoot measure up on the working end? The 25mm I need is only available in 1/2" drive.

Snap on has the dimension of crowfoot wrench in there catalouges and maybe online . By comparing them to the imperial ones I have in a similar size are 13mm thick. If its a one time use then buy the cheapest one you can and attack it with a grinder.

That was my first thought. Buy a cheap one and grind it.

You will sacrafice strength for accessibilty. If the application is for a non-critical situation I would grind a cheap-one. Otherwise I would get a machineshop to craft one and foot the bill to my employer or get a truck brand.

well, i'm at 6.25mm thickness on the Proto 3/8" drive, so that has the SO beat. I would only shy away from grinding down a cheap crowfoot due to slop in fit (it is for final torque on thin wall aluminum components).

If it's something you'll be using often get someone to surface grind it to exact thickness then run by a chrome shop(or mail it) and have them strip and re- plate it.
They'll hang it with some other parts and charge you minimally.
I made a couple of large custom striker plates for a door jam and a guy did them for $10
