Need to cut 2 3/4" radiator hose

If you could put a sleeve of some kind inside and cut that as well, that could help, and a ring or at least tape around the outside as a cut guard or line. I have not yet succeeded in what the OP is attempting….

Excellent! I'm going to try that on the next large hose that I have to cut. But I'm going to use a wooden v-block to carry the hose past the blade. Cutting round things on the bandsaw can lead to surprises otherwise.

I just cut a 2" rad hose on my 10" miter saw. It happened to have an 80 tooth blade on it and work great.

Wrap a piece of tape around it and follow the line with a utility knife.

We had a saw similar to a RAS but the arm would swing rather than slide. Those were the old saws and later they added some Dewalt miter saws both with a single edge smooth blade. Both saws used water to keep the rubber from building on the blade.

I probably cut close to a million pieces of radiator hoses in my day.

If you put something in it to hold it stiff I bet a wheel style cutting tool would work. I know the ones I have for cutting conduit are larger than that. Think a brake line cutter but much bigger. More like a pipe cutter.

I have often inserted a piece of pipe into the hose., Use the end of the pipe to guide your cut. I like and use OLFA.

A kitchen bread knife, and spray the area you are going to cut and the blade with water and Dawn dish soap as a lubricant.

Works perfectly for an amazing cut.

I have often used a worm-drive clamp as a cutting guide for a utility knife. You do have to loosen and reposition the clamp once to clear the worm screw housing. It isn't hard to align the clamp to the partial first cut to complete it.

No need for a dowel.

What you do is get one of those utility knives with the fully extendable snap off blade.

Extend the blade all the way out and GREASE both sides of the blade. Clear silicone grease is perfect if you have it.

Agreed - just lower the blade gently and let the blade do the cutting without forcing it down.
