need to fix cracked plastic

hello, the end cap on my torpedo heater cracked. I was looking for an epoxy that actually works. Any advice?
The part needed to be glued does not get hot. it's got a hair line crack that needs to be sealed.

any advice?

You all have bailed me out before.

you need to first identify the "plastic" in question, or rough it up and try some epoxies...some will work, others will just slide off or not adhere.

try some model airplane glue on the back side and see if it "softens" the plastic, if it does you can use it. Same with some cryo-glue, and so on. If it does not soften the base plastic, then you need a different solvent.

You might contact the maker and see what "plastic" the end cap is made of...and could they suggest a solvent/primer/adhesive.

look and see if its got a letter code as to what type it is

THIS! I know because I fixed mine this way.
The plastic in question is a thermoset plastic (probably phenolic). It is NOT weldable (heat or solvent). I believe that just about any epoxy will work fine, though you'd need to break it apart and apply the epoxy to the crack surfaces. Extra thin CA will wick right into the crack.
