I really need to go to Sears ASAP and buy any thing Craftsman that they have on sale, and put it on e-bay. On e-bay it will apparently sell for catolog prices (or twice what you could buy at Sears) then I get to **** for the shipping!!

This may be my way out of the 9-5!

********'s. Does anybody who buys tools on e-bay have a friggin catalog? (the one's who sell apparently do.)

I disagree, I have picked up the professional ratchets in 3/8 and 1/2 for less than half the catalog price. I have also purchased combination wrenches and sockets for a quarter of what they are in the catalog, and this is all relatively recently. I believe that there are a lot of dumb people who will pay more than they are worth, and I do think that you can make money by purchasing big sets and parting them out on eBay. You definatley need to think about shipping though, many people will try and screw you on shipping.

Ok, there have been times when I have "bought right" on e-bay. But those days seem to be gone.

As in recently I am speaking of within the last month that I have gotten these good deals. I have noticed that many of the clearance and sale items are much more expensive on eBay. I believe that getting a good deal on eBay is all dependant on being smarter, or stupider when it comes to misspellings, than everyone else.

I recently got 149 pieces for $101. 130 sockets, 3 universals, bunch of longer extensions, a ratchet, breaker bar and something I don't recognize. I should receive them tomorrow or Friday, then it'll be like Christmas again.

I think I got a great deal. I don't think the women selling them had a clue how to sell them for more money.

Post a link to the auction if you would. I'm curious to see what you got for $100. Sounds like a killer deal depending on the brand.

the one the black handle or the bar with the 3/8 drive in the center? If its the bottom one that is exactly what it is. Its a bar with a non-ratcheting drive on it. Its more for breaking bolts loose. I guess if you use an extention is like a T-handle socket.

Buying on ebay is like going to any auction. You have to know when to put your hands in your pockets, what your other options to buy it are and how much it costs there, and have patience.

If you need it now, expect it to go higher by at least 10% than you can get it at any store before shipping. So I usually use ebay for items I know I will need in the future and have averaged between 1/4 to 1/2 of catalog prices.
