Hello everybody!
I am new to this forum.
What do you guys think about this vise? Is it worth it to restore it? Cant find any info online about this particular vise. looking for advice!

Not sure on the color, but it's pretty old. I'd say 1940's era. Here's a pic of the one I redid. I only paid $10, but I am always lurking at garage sales and flee markets. Oh yeah, it is a Prentiss. It could ship in a medium flat rate box, so shipping is definitely an option. It's a pretty small vise.

I am in the process of restoring a Prentiss vise as well; a Bulldog 51. I found some old catalog cuts on line from the late 1800's thru early 1920's. The catalogs refer to the vises as being "japaned". Japaning is a black lacquer as far as I can tell. I don't know the gloss level. I used Rustoleum Black Appliance Epoxy.

That looks to be an earlier prentiss with the abbreviated markings and the more rounded appearance and the bigger balls on the end of the handles.
