Hello everyone.
Just need a little help. I have a cheap Chinese 6" vise, and I need to replace the jaw inserts. Anybody know where I can get them?
Thanks

Bob

Post some pictures of your vise or more details like brand name or size and weight of your vise and we might be able to help you.

also why are you replacing them. are they broken or just used and worn down. i buy 6 inch copper Wilton jaws from a great seller on Ebay for $30 for the pair shipped and they work great in any vise and i have a few.

Thanks for the reply.
It has no name on it, it just says China. I bought it at a sale for almost nothing. Because it has no inserts at all right now. Would you mind telling me the seller you use on ebay?
Thanks!

these are a the type of wilton copper jaws i buy for $30 shipped, but my seller's ad wasn't showing so either they ran out or they are getting ready to post another.

they might not work on your vise if it doesn't have any jaws. for an import vise you might want to do as Fretters mentioned and make some or find some cheap ones. or just buy a new Chinese vise from i think Tekton (sp?) that have a lifetime warranty and they are only about $50.

good luck

Yea, that is what I figured I would have to do. I was looking for an easier way I guess. I have too many things torn apart now as it is.:) But, what's one more?
Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions. It looks like I will see what I have laying around that is thick enough to make some. Other wise I will have to find another vise. I guess I know why I got it so cheap!

Thanks again.

McMaster carr has mild steel or aluminum in just about every dimension imaginable. I recently bought a long stick of aluminum to use as soft vise jaws. Worked perfectly. But I have several vises, so nice to have one with permanent soft jaws

Compare your vise to the HF vises and if it is close, take some jaw insert measurements. then see if HF has or can get the replacement parts if its a fit...
