anyone ever try to form a plastic welding shade into a different shape, does it still work as good as when it's flat? i wanted to try to see if i could get a large piece of shade and put enough heat on it to form it around a partial helmet shape to make a 180 degree view lens and then implement an autodarkening lens in the front so you can see where you are going to weld and when you start welding you'll have complete view of the entire workpiece and not just a small area.
sounds like a good idea in theory but i've never messed around with trying to form those lenses around anything, just an idea, not sure if its been done or not.
