Need some wiring advice , I'm changing lights out in our bathroom, going from 1 single light with 6 bulbs on the fixture .
Changing to 2, 3 bulbs each fixtures .
The problem I have is the wire is too short How can I extend the wire , Or Do I need to run a new wire ?

Thanks for your input

So you are going from a box in the center of the mirror to two boxes centered on the mirror? The wire from the currently centered box is to short to make it to the other, is that correct?

The best solution is to run a new wire from the switch if its possible. If that is not easily possible there was another thread on here with t splices that may or may not meet code buried in the wall.

You can not splice the wire out side of a junction box, and you can not hide a junction box in a wall.

Yes Joe that is correct . I'm putting two boxes over two single mirrors and the wire is too short to go to either boxes .

My thought was if it was long enough to go to one of the boxes , then I could run a wire to the remaining box from the first box .

It's a two story home, so not sure how easy it would be to run a new wire from switch .
