So I walked on the SO truck yesterday. My dealer has a 68" Epiq, red with black trim. We get to talking about it and he tells me there is a double rebate on it right now. We talked a few numbers and and I could walk off with it for ~$6800.

Do you all think this is a good deal? I know the box goes for $10,900 on the website.

So for all of you who have more experience, what do you think?

Sure it is! If you have to finance it maybe not, but I'm one of those people who likes to pay cash for something like that. A house or a car you can finance but financing tools seems foolish, but that's one heck of a deal! That being said I have a simple KRA that I paid cash for but would love to have bigger/nicer box even though I probably don't need it.

I think you can haggle him down more. I would go for 5,000.00 if you plan on financing. 5500.00 to 6000.00 if you can buy it outright.

Thanks for the replies guys! One of the double rebate stipulations is that I would finance it. I have the cash for it so I would just finance then pay it off before the interest kicks in, which in this case I believe is 90 days. I have a KRA2318 now, and it's just getting too full.

I believe it is 90 days before interest. Awsome part of the deal is you need to explain what the final price will be years from now when it's paid. I think like someone said, squeeze him for more. Tell him 5k and maybe he will drop more off his price. It is a good deal on a sweet box. I would like to get an epiq too.

The driver doesn't need to know you have the cash set aside.

Sounds good guys, I'll try and chew the price down a bit more or try and get more for my box. I hate hone these deals always come up when I'm finally doing good on saving some cash

I think id buy the harbor frieght 72" for 999.99 and save close to 5 grand but i dont wrench for a living

I don't wrench professionally either, though it's a route I'm considering even though I'd be taking about a 50% pay cut. I'm just a dedicated DIY at the moment though

He can do better I paid 5341.00 for a 84 epic after 1500 trade In

Wow!! That's a smoking deal! You must have a great relationship with your dealer.
