Needed: Watch Tool/Tool Kit Recommendations??

Typically, this topic doesn't come up on the forum, BUT, I am in need of some decent, basic tools (or a small tool kit) to size link watch bands, change batteries occasionally, etc.. I'm just a consumer who has a bunch of watches that need to be sized and know I can save a few bucks by doing it myself. It's simple enough, but not sure what tools/where to buy.

Have looked at many sites online and there are all kinds.............from $8-9.00 for a complete set of tools (obviously, inexpensive ones that might only last for a handful of band sizings) to Swiss-made individual tools used by professional watchmakers (up to $100's).

So, does anybody have a recommendation or preferred source for these types of tools? Just thought I'd throw it out there and see if you guys might know.

Any jewelry supply will have what your looking for. Try Gesswein, Rio Grande or Stullers. If you work on watches with the screw on backs you'll need one of those adjustable spanner tools made for watches.

Most recently I got a Bergeon Spring bar tool with a couple of different size tips along with some Poly Watch, good products that I have used on a few watches. I would guess that they have a tool to depress pins for band adjustment but I have just used an ordinary metal scribe with a slightly blunted tip.

HF sells a spanner for about $5 or less during sales, then rest maybe keep an eye on ebay for used stuff.

That's good advice. If you go on timezone, they have a members tool kit stuff. Buy quality, HF stuff has no business near a quality timepiece.

I love em all, from gshock, seiko's, Panerai, UN, well...I could go on and on. Buy the good stuff once and you won't be dicking around with broken tools or damaged cases.
