I know this should probably go into the wanted section but I don't want it lost in the tools people are looking for.

I'm looking for someone to make me an aluminum base for a project I'm working on, I live near Youngstown ohio, if your not within driving distance I will pay the shipping as well as your time and materials. I have an idea of what this should cost.

I need an aluminum base made for a project I'm working on for my son and need it done in a timely manner. The base consists of a flat piece of aluminum 2'x4' no less then 3/16" thick, 1/4" would be better since my sons going to be sitting in it along with other stuff. I need a border either mig welded or tig welded around the edges, roughly 2" tall and 3/16" thick material this will be offset more on the bottom and less on top. We can discuss the rest of it in pm's but this give a rough sketch of what I need.

NOW, why don't I go local with this? 2 reasons

number 1: this is a top secret build, only me and my wife and 1 of my brothers know about it. I don't want my family finding out what I'm doing!!

number 2: The local weld shop will not have the finess for this job and he will only want to stitch weld the border on and I want it welded all the way around plus he is all backed up.

It has to be a clean and smooth job, my sons hands are soft and young yet so I can't have anything that will cut him. also the corners must all be smooth. Where the border is welded does not have to be smooth, more then likely, weld it from the bottom and it will be hidden.

pm me if your interested, if not I'll continue my hunt around home

I believe this is what he's talking about but I may be wrong. The line drawing just helps to illustrate the top and bottom aprons, the top (red lines) being smaller than the bottom (green lines), essentially a pan of sorts.

Depending on the material grade (5052, 6061..Ect.) , you may be able to bend (2) of the edges (perpendicular to the grain) and weld the other (2) .
