Needing info on Alemite workbench

Hello. This is my first post here and I THINK I'm in the right place, but if not, please move this thread. I have a friend who is getting ready to move. She was cleaning out her garage and she found an old metal tool cabinet. I know one member here, Econoaddict, has one that looks identical to the one she has in design, and his bench has the Alemite badges on it (I think) . She's not sure if she really wants to sell it, but she'd like to get some more information on it, as she's not really sure what she has there. Attached are the best pictures we could really get. She said it has an outlet built into it, and it also has a light, both of which work. It does not have anything on it that actually labels it as "Alemite" but as I said, it looks identical to a bench that has Alemite badges from this forum. Can anyone provide any kind of information? Her grandfather owned this workbench when he owned an old Sinclair station. Any information (history of these benches, estimated value in present condition and fully restored, is there a large market for this kind of bench, etc.) is very much appreciated. Thank you for your assistance in advance!

Yeah those are collectible and fetch some descent cash. I think nice unrestored ones sell for 2-3k.

I'll second that statement. Welcome to the board and that unit is cool as heck!!. I'm not sure were you're located but if your GF does entertain the idea of selling it, I would sure be interested buying it. Good luck with your search and sorry I'm of no help. But do doubt one or two guys here will provide more information that you could have ever imagined, LOL.

Lol, not my GF, just a friend of the family, but she actually joined the forum this morning and hasn't had a chance to post, as she's been trying to get things cleaned out for the move. Located in Southwest MO, so if she does entertain the idea, I'm sure this will be the place for her to go to sell it. :) Thanks for the interest, guys!

I was typing as you were posting.
SW MO is not that far from me. I would definitely be interested. We are getting ready to rehab an old cinder block building for our workshop, and want to make it look like an old gas station. Can you take some measurements? Maybe compare to some others and figure out who the maker is.

I would pay a fair price.

PM me if you would like to talk.

ChnZ....welcome and Hello from Ohio. You can update your location in your profile. Those cabinets are sought after and I also would be interested in it. Thanks.

Lynn,

I'm pretty sure it's made by Alemite. It looks just like another bench made by Alemite that one of this forum's users posted on here, and that one had Alemite badges. This one, however, does not have any badges on it. You can see in the pictures on the doors where there is a faded circle and 2 little holes where the badge used to be. Again, not positive she wants to sell it just yet. We'd like to get more information about this specific bench first.

The holes in the doors look right for the Alemite emblems to bolt in, Alemite and Lincoln cabinets were both built in the same factory. I'd say it's worth $2,000 to $2,500
