Gossiping about the neighbors. Isn't that what women do after peering from behind closed curtains ?
I guess the neighbors aren't very friendly, but I would be willing to bet that they aren't commenting about the OP on some internet chat room, like a bunch of women.
I guess you just lumped yourself in with that same group.
It's a helluva deal when you can total loss a car with a paint job.
Likewise, I've seen some paint jobs come out of a booth that looked like the paint was applied with a trowel. On the other hand, a buddy of mine did a flame job with rattle cans that would make Mike Lavallee do a double-take. My buddy turned out to be a pretty good artist and now air brushes goalie masks, cars etc. for a living.
maybe they've had bad experiences before & are cautious on meeting others. I've seen neighbors going from being the best of friends to mortal enemies.
I don't think my wife was looking for a new "bff" but it is a little surprising that when you help a neighbour out, introduce yourself and receive nothing more than you would from holding a door open for a stranger. Maybe we're expecting too much. Another neighbour locked herself out of the house. My wife, shovelling the sidewalk, noticed her outside shivering and asked if she wanted to come in and wait for her husband(?) to return home. The woman declined but did 'borrow' my wife's mittens and hasn't returned them... from two years ago lol
Might be that his inner circle has a high set of standards that you do not meet.... A snob ring that is......... Well some of those folks have a power trip when they can snob someone else.........I know a few like that who are not worth getting to know.. I just ignore them, and deprive them of another power trip at my expense... There are enough good folks to chat with.
I hear ya; they can't all be as good as us!
I'm thankful for all the great neighbours we do have. One of them from several houses down the street really blew me away. Our street doesn't get plowed and I've pushed, towed, shoveled at least 30 cars in the last couple years and I'll make tracks to the main road with my Suburban so others can drive. An older lady down the street presented me with a cardboard box while I was working on my boat in the driveway last spring. It was a box with some old fishing lures from her late father and she thought I could make use of them. She then thanked me for helping others that were snowbound. Funny thing is, I don't think she drives or has a car... just thoughtful.
