Yes we are pretty lucky. We help each other out in various ways. This particular fellow moved a few blocks away so still touch base occasionally. My one buddy/neighbour, the carpenter that built my garage that this thread is all about moved to the family farm. His parents are getting up in age and it is a pretty sweet setup. He built a new house for his parents and will be moving into the home he grew up in. His Dad was a metal sculptor, his Mom an artist so the property is pretty cool. His Dad has work spread about all over North America a few pieces even further.
This guy was a great source of info and tools
We do chat and text but don’t get to do the occasional beer like we used to. Both these guys will be hard to replace but we are working on being good neighbours. And like my buddy says “Being a good neighbour helps having good neighbours.” .
