Finally getting my shop going. Been wanting to build for a while and finally got the go ahead in 2021. Was going to go with a 40x64x14 but after talking to the building supplier, Amish lumber yard here in northeast Missouri, he said adding 8 more feet wouldn't cost that much more. Just a truss and some metal, so here we are a 40x72x14. We got 2 overhead doors and 1 walk in door

outside all finished except for garage doors. They were on backorder because of springs or something so had to wait about 5 months for those to show up.They finally showed up but waited until we had electric hooked up out there. Guy came out, hooked up water out there then trenched my electric line out there for me to finish.

Got the doors all hooked up, drain line ran outside for 2 floor drains and a sink. Leveled out the floor, put vapor plastic down and started with 2" insulation. There are 2 areas that are lower because i plan on putting in a 2 post lift.

put in pex for floor heat. I plan on using it but if i dont, its already there for the future. Rebar is on 24" centers expect for the right hand garage door, just in case a semi gets pulled in to be worked on. I have a feeling there might be one at some point in time. ( i dont own any at this point in time.) But worked at a shop for a while. (Yes the outlet above the manifold will be moved and a gfci. Put it there for the time being)

and we have cement. Poured Jan 11 2023, was really warm out for the time of year. I wanna say was around 65* that day. Did 6" of cement throughout the shop and where the lift goes was 8" thick. Specs dont call for that much for it but more is better.

My plan for this shop is to work on cars and to be able to do collision work or restoration work on vehicles. Paint booth will be going in the corner, where there are no windows (for that reason) I will have to cut open the wall for an exhaust fan at some point in time. I still have to put insulation in on the ceiling, metal ceiling then need to insulate the walls. But that will be a month or so down the road. We are now up to date of the build. I moved a few things in already.

Not much has happened except projects getting moved in. As well as fixing other people's ****. Don't work out there in the winter because it gets to cold. List is to get it insulated soon.
