Well I'm only getting 20 volts at the thermostat. Looks like I'll need an isolation relay
do you get 20V with the Nest hooked up ? or 20V without...
with the nest hooked up, then most likely a chance of the nest drawing too much power than the tiny transformer can handle... Check the voltage without... means the wires unhooked.
without the nest hooked up then you might have wiring problem like too thin gauge or too long of a run...
do you get the same 20V voltage at the Unit ? or 24V.
keep in mind isolation relay needs a separate transformer in addition to the relay... I think there was one that is already build in, transformer/relay.. forgot the brand.
Homedepot sells those transformers (40VA one honeywell brand) but not the relay...transformer I think was $50-ish at HD.... Amazon or ebay market place have the cheapest. $18+tax for transformer and about $12 for the relay I think...
