I was looking for SK impact sets, and came upon a great promo deal at USA
ToolWarehouse.com. It was for a SKT 4053 (1/2" 30pc. 6 pt., standard & deep impact metric socket set) and the bonus SKT 46164 ( 4 pc. 1/2" impact extension set) for 179.17. Their policy is free shipping if order is over $250, so i added 4 more items for a grand total of $309.13. This was on 2-27-12. I received an order confirmation several hours later. On 2-29-12. hadn't heard anything else about the order, so i emailed and was told they needed to bring in product to ship my order. A week goes by, i get an email my order is shipping that day, Wed. I get an updated invoice that night, showing the promo deal is no longer available ( 9 days after i placed the order and received confirmation that all was in order) and now because my order is below the $250 threshold for free shipping, they charged me shipping. I called and spoke w/ the owner, and found out USA & Network are sister companys. He informed i shouldn't have been charged shipping and he'd refund it, but it would take up to 9 days. I return something to a store, it shows up the next day. He offered to sell me the 2 items for his cost, which was actually higher than ToolTopia.com 's regular price. I declined. He also told me i should have called them after i ordered online to make sure everything was in stock. That made me laugh. Whats the point of being able to order online if i have to call and make sure everything is ok w/ the order. As far as i'm concerned, their confirmation email should have shown the deleted item.
2 days go by, and i received my shipment short 1 item. I called to complain. and as i was talking to them, realized the pick ticket that came w/ the order showed the item as backordered. I mentioned this to him as we spoke, and he questioned me on this, as his computer was showing the item shipped. I offered to fax him a copy of the pick ticket, which i did. At the end of that conversation, he was going to refund the shipping, which they still hadn't done yet, and send the missing item, which he said they did indeed show as in stock. 2 weeks goes by, nothing. I emailed them. No reply. I opened a dispute w/ my credit card company for the missing item and shipping charge, and thankfully sent them all my saved documents pertaining to the sale. The cc co. deducted the disputed amount from my card while they gave the merchant time to tell their side. Only after 2 months goes by after i filed the dispute did they finally issue their own credit. Maybe i'm 1 out of 1000's of orders they process and dropship and screw up, but their handling of the issue, by the owner himself, left me w/ a bad taste in my mouth, and i'll never do business w/ them again. There's too many company's like ToolTopia that get it right and ship the same day, and let you know right away if there's a problem. Not wait a week and a half, ship, and THEN tell you an item is no longer available. I'd have cancelled the whole order had i known that. That's my experience w/ these people.
