With all the cool Lista, Vidmar, and scratch built small parts cabinets out there I definitely got the bug to make or find my own. It started when the wife bought me a nice 16 drawer steel Akro-Mils for Christmas this past year.
After awhile of searching craigslist and the like i found this Neumade metal slide cabinet(Made in the USA
) that i just knew I could drill the spot welds out in the center sections and turn it into a mini parts cabinets. So I did just that!
This is what the cabinet started out looking like, I did clean all the tape and **** off the face on one drawer here though.

I forgot to take a picture of what the drawers looked like inside before I drilled all the spot welds out and pulled the slide support sections out. I found this one online just to give everyone an idea.

You can see some of the holes fully drilled while others are not all the way. This took too long trying to not drill all the way through the metal and just get the spot weld so I just started drilling straight through. Had to clean the end tabs up with a dremal as I didn’t want to drill through the face of each drawer.

Cleaning all the tape off the drawers had to be one of the hardest parts to this job. I tried Goo Gone, acetone, mineral spirts, brake cleaner, and parts washer solvent nothing was removing this easily as it was so dried on there! Finally broke out the dremel with one of the white polishing wheels and that made quick work of everything, wish I would have done that sooner. Ruined a few wheels but at least the finish on the drawers were still intact and not ruined!

I had one of the HF organizing boxes from awhile back that I decided to see how the trays fit in as the drawers are about 2" tall. They fit pretty well actually but I knew I had to get some Schaller bins so they are on order and should be arriving later today!
