Alright I guys. I am a virgin with heating and cooling and looking at the manual makes no sense to me. I have a Modine hot dawg with terminals Y, G, W, R, C. I have a honeywell programable thermostat showing terminals G, W, C, Y, R, RC. My understanding is that I need to run wires to and from terminals R, G, W. Is this correct or am I mistaken? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

I may have figured out the answer, I would just like someone to confirm. I will run a red wire R for power, I will run a black wire C for neutral, I will run a white wire W for heating call and a green wire G for the fan. I would like to buy the wire and run this soon so any help is appreciated.

You sound like you have it figured out. R- is power W- is heat G- fan Y- cooling and obviously C- common. The RC/R terminals are usually jumpered from the factory on most T-stats to allow for dual transformer situations if your not installing cooling you can leave it alone. I cant speak to your specific needs without more info but you should be o.k. with a 4 wire if thats the direction you want to go, the C and G may or may not be necessary. 18g wire is all thats needed as I am asssuming this is a low volt scenario

I tested a short run the other day to make sure I had things correct. Came on, came up to temp and shut off perfectly. Now I just need to decide where I want to put the damn thermostat. Thanks for the info guys.
