Good Day
I used to have a single garage which was always full and could only just get my Harley in there. We had a bedroom extention and did a revamp of the kitchen to keep the family happy. We have been in this house for 14 years and always wanted a larger garage for my toys. Well I finally decided to to do just that. I used a builder friend of mine in April to start. Big mistake to use a friend as you loose a friendship very quickly and money he still owes me. In July they had only put the foundation down with 3 courses of bricks at the front and 16 down the sides. The lower store room had only 3 courses down. This is because the walked off site twice, no pay. To cut a long storey short I got my own builders in and did all the supervision daily. In 5 weeks we are up to roof height. The roof goes on tomorrow, windows and garage door by Friday. I cannot believe how good these builders are. They also wish to finish for Xmas. I was given a tip to try out on the walls and floor which I have tried and really like it. I have added red oxide into the wall plaster which very nice. I will do the same with the floor with gray and then use a none slip sealer.

I have joined this site to get idea's for the set up of the garage. Any idea's or sites to look at would be appreshiated.

I have a Ford 1955 F 100 which I have just completed last week. A 1955 Studebaker Champion, 2 x Harley Davidson and 3 modern cars. It will be nice to have the space to park in my own garage. I have been keeping these at my factory which is a pain when I want to go for a ride. I am so looking forward to completion so I can open the garage door to go for a ride.

I think I am really looking forward to tinkering around in the garage to tell the truth.

Cheers

Hi
Well the plastic is battened down and tiles will go on today. It will be so nice to be able to park my 2 Harley's and my 2 classics at home and not at work. I am getting really excited like a kid with a new toy. If anyone has idea's for the workshop area please send me some photo's.
Cheers

John

Thanks for the update John, looking good.

Can I suggest you have a troll through some of the other setups in the garage gallery and pick the ideas that will suit your circumstances. I find its a pretty personal thing really and you do have a blank canvas so to speak. A shop is like a good wine, matures with age...
What works for some may not be suited to your needs.
All the best with your build.

Regards

Hi

I am located in Durban South Africa. Came here in 1980 for a holiday and stayed. I will check out the gallery and see what ideas I can find. I like American muscle and V 8 sound. I have a 2003 Harley road king, 1996 Softail, Studebaker Champion r/h drive straite six ( am going to sell ). My pride and joy which is now complete after 8 years. 1955 r/h drive F 100 with a Cleveland V 8 and a multi colored paint job. I must say I like the Lincoln you have there. Windows going in today and finishing the roof tiles today. Hope to park my toys in the garage next week.

Have a great day.

John
