New 20x20 garage flooring option

Considering flooring options for a new 20x20 garage that I will be using for a restoration. I will be doing quite a bit of welding etc.... and want something that will seal the concrete but not chip/flake get damaged in the process. Considering VCT or stained / sealing the bare concrete.

I'm kinda cheap, so high dollar epoxy is not what I'm looking to do.


Thoughts????

OK understand that welding will leave marks in almost anything. I definitely would not do VCT. Porcelain would be an option. Densifier and Ghostshield 8505 would seal and protect the floor, but not add any aesthetic value. TrueLock PPC would give the floor some luster up to a gloss depending on how many coats you did.

How many containers would I need of the TrueLock PPC to do the 20x20?

A single coat of our SPGX runs about 30 cents/ ft after the GJ discount. Lots of positive reviews on the product here on GJ. Easy to apply, no mixing, single coat application.

I have VCT and it has held up decently to a small amount of welding. That said, I would go with porcelain tile. It will hold up better than any epoxy coating and seal the floor with less risk IMHO.
