New 26x32 build

Hello to all from WI. Visited your journal many times....happy to have joined, just hope I'm doing this right. Better with a hammer than an iPad!
Having concrete poured for a 26x 32 garage (space very limited, shared drive in central wi city home). Had old garage razed week before deer season thinking we could get the pour done...Didn't happen due to cold. Gave us time to think. Thought about a basement however crane needs larger footprint to get in. I should tell you that a variance had to be obtained for new garage (home and garage took 33% of lot vs the allowed 30%). Home is Gabriel in architecture. Love it...first level 1870, second level I'm thinking 40's.
First of all, looking for thoughts. Lots of space upstairs in my home due to style. I have professional help to assist me at any stage and he tells me he dislikes Gabriel style and it's much more difficult to build. Because we can go 18 ft high, he tells me plenty of room, if not just as much, could be obtained utilizing a pitched roof. I need ideas from you to obtain as much space as possible in the "loft area." 26x32x18 feet high. Thanks! Looking forward to much more educ!

What do you plan on doing in the garage?

You have me thinking with that question...I think I've been so focused on getting it built, I forgot what I wanted to use it for!
Though not a mechanic, I enjoy working on engines. I would rather fix things myself rather than take to a garage. It's my way of continuing to learn I guess. Had to install power steering lines outside this last winter.... It was cold and pretty sure everyone thought I was goofy. Whether it be brakes, oil changes, rebuilding my snowmobile engines, cleaning carbs or even turning a snowmobile into a four wheeler (that will be first project after garage is up), I enjoy it all. Looking forward to firing up my new welder when the garage is done. Bought it early when it went on sale and I couldn't pass up. Hobart 190... First welder and lots to learn, but excited to use it! I could go on but I don't want to bore anyone! Pictures will be here soon. They put forms up Friday, but there will be a delay. Because I wasn't putting in a frost wall I was told it would not be a good idea for floor heat...contractor told me I would be crazy not to. He has same 4 in slab in his own garage. Soooo, time to learn the pattern and runs for the pex! Always open for advice from anyone here btw!
