I hope this picture thing worked. Here is my new 30X48 post frame, started last week. In peoria county you must have poles set 4 ft. with 18 inch poured footing 6 inch deep

Looking good. Did you start the build this winter? Weather here in the Midwest has been unseasonably warm. It's made alot of construction possible.

I noticed that the post go right into the ground, do you have to treat them or do anything special to prevent the wood from rotting or termites getting at it.

Oh, I like how you made 30x48 and not 30x50:D

They use pressure treated laminated poles. Its (3) 2X6 pressure treated and laminated to make 6X6. To go 2 ft longer and make it 50 ft would have been 1 more trusse and 2 posts and builder said the cost wasn't worth it for 2 ft.

They finished outside today. Now for gutters and then start on electrical and cement.

Building looks great, very similar to the dimensions I would like to build. I am not too far from you, over by Metamora. Who did you have put up the building?

Have to ask how much you have in it? I like the size and looks. Ragland built one here in town a while back but it was a plane Jane.

$21700 for building. I got Dirt work, permit, cement at contractor cost, I paid for reinforcement in cement, vaper barrier, insulation under slab and gutters. A friend does cement and he did for free but I gave him a $1000.00 tip. Total as of now $29000.00. Also got it trenched from one end to the other to lay in water line and sewer line for 2 cases of beer, 1 case for the use of the trencher and 1 case for his brother to trench it in.

5 mil. vaper barrier over all the floor and 2 inch foam all around outter edge 2 foot wide. Didn't put foam under roll up door, I didn't want to take a chanch of it giving and cracking from driving over it.
