Hello everyone. Like most I been lurking here for a while getting ideas and thinking out how I want to do my garage. Finally finalized the plans, competed the bids with builders, got permits and broke ground a couple weeks ago. This is a 30x57 four bay garage. Far left bay will house a two post lift. The doors will be 10 ft wide and 9 ft tall. There will be a upstairs of 14x36 with stairs accessing from the inside of the garage. Three windows across the back wall, two on the north wall, three on the south wall and four active dormers across the front roof line. The siding, shutters, windows and roof shingles will match the main house with stone on the bottom. Can't wait until its done! Hope you like the project and thanks to everyone for sharing their garages to gain ideas.

Will

That should be a great space for you and plenty of it. Congrats!

I'd love to have that kind of space!

This looks great! I can't wait to hear more about your plans.

What did you decide to do with regards to electricity, water, etc.? Is the upstairs loft going to be an apartment?

Well the garage project is finally coming to end. Its been a rough experience with the builder since he had to be babysat the whole way. Once its done, I will be happy. Next week I will have the asphalt in the front tied to the rest of the asphalt. Next month the lift will get installed. Can't wait. Hope you all like it.

Very nice! I'm assuming with such a well done exterior, you'll be finishing the interior? What type of flooring are you going with?

I held back on the drywall for now until I decide exactly where I want all the 240V lines. I have all the standard 120V 20a outlets in to get lights and power. The lift will go in next month. Once I have the electrical done, I will insulate and drywall. Same for upstairs. I also have to figure out how I want to heat and cool the garage. I had to keep to a budget and the interior I can take my time with, but it will get done. I did have the floors looked at for polishing. Expensive! I have to really think hard about the floor. I plan to work in there and the floors can be too **** where I won't want to get them dirty and if I scratch them, I don't want to be pissed at myself. So, that is another one I have to really think about.
