Well the wait for the contractor was longer than I thought but there is finally some progress happening. They started building the walls on friday and should be setting them today. Here are a couple pictures of during backfilling friday evening.

Beautiful work. Would love to see it when its done, seems like the process is going rather smoothly.

Thanks. I have been fortunate enough to work along side the carpenter and help him with some things. Its been a few years since I have done anything carpentry related so it has been pretty fun. Everything is going very smooth thanks to the great fall weather we have had so far.

Not much left now just need the electric and overhead door. We have poly over the hole now so we can run the heat for the concrete. I am looking forward to the weekend so I can start my workbench.

Nice, I'm leaning towards a poured stem wall for my next build as well.
Termite resistant.

Did you pin the slab to the walls?

I got time to change oil and wash my wifes vehicle. That gave me a chance to try out the trench drain.

I got my lights installed yesterday finally. They didn't get my outlets wired yet but I can live with the couple I wired in out of the box for now. Now I have enough light to take a picture of my almost done work bench even though its a mess. I have to finish painting the drawer pulls and install them and also install the miter box.

Looking good.
What kind of light fixtures are those.

I don't know what brand they are, but they are a t5 bulb.
The electrician I use and have used for years recomended them
to me so I took his word and am very pleased with the amount of
light they let off. He said that he has been running numbers for the
last year and LED just aren't worth it yet. They are wired in with
plug ins so if the day comes I can hang new lights in a matter of
an hour.

I have 16 foot sidewalls so I could get a 14.5 foot door in. As of now I am not planning a loft, although it isn't out of the question in the future. We have some large equipment, semi's, combine, tractors, that we need the height for and also the full 56 feet so I don't want to block any space for tall equipment.
