So I finally received a permit to start construction on my new shop. It will be a stand alone 40x60X14 metal building on a slab. Now that I have a permit and contractors lined up, the rains came calling and we had a deluge of 17+ inches over a 48 hour period. Needless to say the building site was under water and construction won't start anytime soon.

The good news is that the plans call for bringing in about 55 loads of select fill to build a pad for the 5" of concrete slab we've engineered for this project. That puts the finished floor height at about 8 inches above the highest watermarks on the property. Of course the bad news is that it's costing me an extra $10k+ for the dirt work.
I'll post more pictures and details as things develop, but I don't expect to see any progress for the next 30-45 days until things dry out a bit.
Thanks
John
