TEKTON has released a handful of 6-n-1 drivers. Handle is molded here in the USA and the steel components are made in Taiwan. One nice thing is individual components can be purchased separately.
These look pretty nice, but my only gripe here is no 1/4" drive in the top of the handle.
It seems like that's a feature that not everybody has, but it doesn't seem like it would be that hard to produce -- after all, it's effectively just extending the shank length a bit and giving it a square drive hole in the top.

Ah, I missed the "bit tube" design bit, I was thinking too much about the availability of replacement bits.
By the way if Dave sees this, selling everything separately is fantastic, and makes for great reassurance that if an individual piece is ever lost, damaged or misplaced, an entire kit isn't necessary. Hopefully this does well, and they expand the lineup to include a 1/4" square drive with the female end in the handle (yes, I'm fixated).

I'm curious...why do you need a 1/4 drive on a 6 in 1 screwdriver?![]()

In general, I like it for the convenience factor. The ability to have a hand driver function as an extension is pretty much a matter of "if I can't reach it easily" -- most of my tool purchases these days aren't so much out of necessity as making a job simpler.
I also want standard drivers. I have a #0 phillips Matco maroon handled driver, and a ? brand small black flat tip that I acquired separately and have had for a long time. I'm not sure if Tekton handle finish will be smooth (easy to keep clean) but I'll be keeping my eye open for what they offer.I want red.![]()
Out of stock on the Tekton site...
Wow that did not take long!
I am glad I got my order in.

Wow! There are people actually need or exited by this kind of stuff

It seems like a case of kool-aid drinkers...tekton getting high praise for making something many other tool companies have already been making for years? Awesome!!!
And they have spare parts WOW...so does Klein, why is everyone here making a big deal about this?
Are you expecting a company to re-invent the screwdriver or something? Snap On already made sockets and ratchets, so I guess we should also curb our enthusiasm over any new sockets or ratchets hitting the market too.
I have an idea why people like these new Tekton drivers - they're 1/2 to 1/3 of the price of the Klein, and have a hard handle as opposed to that god-awful two piece rubber covered one.
I think Tekton has just as many 'haters' as it has 'kool-aid drinkers'. Any time something positive is said about Tekton or their products, the whiners have to come out of the woodwork to complain about it and try to dismiss it as 'kool-aid drinkers'.
What makes people happy about an inexpensive, quality, US-made tool any different than people getting excited about the next Snap On product release?
I don't think Tekton has "haters", but there are "haters" for "Tekton shills", because they are annoying and insulting to every GJ tool-guy's intelligence.

Menards has been giving it out for FREE for years. Wooden handle, looks better made than Tekton.
I could have ended up with several of this, but it's the kind of tool that I don't need/want, even for FREE.
Lots of 6-in-1s in Menards, from $1.77 to $8.45 (Made in USA):

I don’t know where I’ve been, as I have multiple Menard’s near me and I’ve never seen the wood handled 6-in-1 offered for free. That said, it’s discontinued, and so is the $1.77 Performax. So if you really want that $1.77 screwdriver and bottle opener there’s only 3 locations that carry it.
Now, they do have the orange Tool Shop 6-1 on sale for $0.99 often.
I like Tekton for a variety of reasons. One, I have been happy with the tools I own. The combination wrenches are an outstanding value and considering I’ve beat on them with a 3lb hammer getting brakes off and doing suspension work, they’re pretty durable too. Plus since I have the big set, no skips. I also am pleased with the USA made Wilde sourced slip joint pliers and the groove joint pliers as well. In fact, the Tekton groove joints are better than the Channelocks I have. The fiberglass ratchet is the same Harbor Freight ratchet that everyone loves. I bought the HF because it was cheaper. The other thing I like is I can order most of their product line off Amazon and it’s here in 2 days or less.
I think the reason people in general like Tekton is they’re trending in the right direction, unlike say Kobalt. Even before Craftsman took over, they went from USA Williams, to Taiwan, to China. Very few Kobalt tools are better made today than they were 20 years ago. Tekton keep improving and trying to bring us a better product, and when it’s possible made in the USA too.
Complain about fanboys all you want, I’ve actually used the tools and am happy they seem to value our input.
I've seen the Menards wood handle driver. I don't recall seeing it as a freebie but I don't doubt that they gave them away free. I passed over them as junk when I saw them. I didn't think they were as nice as my Klein but to be fair I dismissed them quickly on sight and never used them. I expect that the Tekton will be similar to the Klein and Craftsman 6-in-1.
I have a few 6-in-1s with handles that could use replacing. All of mine are from different manufacturers but the parts are all swappable. I'm hoping that they'll be swappable with the Tekton as well. That way I can buy some new handles and chuck the old handles.
The main thing of interest to me is the handle. I like the handle shape, it is cast in the USA, and I think the material won't deteriorate.
Yes, I too ordered the handles, because they appear to be similar to the Williams handles, but Williams does not offer a hard handle 6 in 1. For $5ea I had to give a few of them a try. I have plenty of bits and barrels already.
Not to take away from Tekton, but if you want a better match for your Williams hard handle screwdrivers and do not mind spending the money, Snap-On does offer a 4-in-1 screwdriver with the 4-sided hard handle.
